Hi

I'm wondering which is the channel bandwidth used by CC2420 (Telosb) and RF230 (IRIS) radio-chips for 802.15.4 communication.

Bandwidth should be about a couple of MHz in channels around 2.4GHz but I couldn't find information properly described neither in IEEE standards neither in Crossbow official documents. IEEE 802.15.4-2006 shows 2MHz. In Crossbow documentation (ZigBeeandWiFiInterference.pdf) I can see 3MHz.

I've just done a fast test using a spectrum analyzer while two motes were exchanging (ping6) packets on channel 14 (2420 MHz) and 15 (2425 MHz).

From my test seems that the pick at central frequency is about -37dBm, bandwidth is approximately 3 MHz at -30 dBm (or 7 MHz at -40 dBm) below pick in both sides. My spectrum analyzer is not acurate enough and I need more accurate and reliable measurements to be sure.

Do you have better information o could you point me somewhere?

Many thanks

Davide
