I use the GEDIT editor under Windows. You can download it from   
http://projects.gnome.org/gedit/
If you want syntax highlight for NesC, you must to add a "ncc.lang" file. I've 
an updated copy of this file, if you want it.
Also you can change the screen appearance with themes  ->  
http://live.gnome.org/GtkSourceView/StyleSchemes
