Hello,

I just did a simple experiment of the tmote sky, or telosB, to measure its
current consumption when the radio transmission power is set at different
level.
I changed the makefile "CFLASS += -DCC2420 DEF RFPOWER” to different value and
did observe the change in communication range, which means the transmission
power was changed. However, the total current consumptions were almost the same
(both around 18mA). (The way I measure the current is by cascading a small
resistor to the power supply (10 ohm). )

I read from the tmote sky data sheet and found that the current consumption for
0 dBm is 17.4 mA and for -25 dBm is 8.5 mA. I'm not a hardware guy and I don't
know how tmote sky changes its transmission power. It's probably by changing
the
current to the PA but I don't know how exactly it works.

Any thoughts/suggestions are appreciated!

Best regards,
Bach
