Hi,

the default implementation of the CC2420 stack sends the acknowledgemnt frame 
by strobing the SACK command. Open 
$TOSROOT/tos/chips/cc2420/receive/CC2420ReceiveP.nc , you'll find this:

call SACK.strobe();

It is actually called only if the received frame requires an ack, if auto ack 
are enabled and hardware acks are disabled (in this last case, acks are sent 
by CC2420 without TinyOS help). Refer to the CC2420 datasheet for more 
details.
