hello all,
I am working on the blip-rpl i was testing the multi-hop, here i have few
doubts:
my experiment set up is some thing like this
root(node 1)
2 3 4 all have rank 1
5 6 7 all have rank 2
8 9 10 all have rank 3
for node 8 9 10, nodes 5 6 7 are parents similarly for nodes 5 6 7, nodes
2,3,4 are parent... when i do ping6 and traceroute6 for node 8 both
request and reply follows 2->5->8 . So now when i remove node 5 , i am not
able to reach node 8.. and i observed that node 8 was not receiving any
request so it was not replying. but ping request is reaching from root to
2 and 2 tries to send to 5 only.. even though it is not available... i
think the reason for this is 2 not received any DAO messages from 6 saying
that 8 is my child ( is my understanding is correct?) ...
So when i observe DAO messages ( as which is the only one which tells
downward route) sent by 8, 8 keeps on sending to 5 only even though it is
not available and it is not recognising that 5 is not available (because
DAO is not considering increasing etx value) and it thinks 5 as its
default route.
So my doubt is why DAO messages are sending to default route only why it
is not sending to entire parent list ( in rpl document 5.7.8 says In
storing mode DAO sent to multiple parent ) ?...
So for this i changed DAO destination address of node 8 to multicast
address (ff02::1a) but i observed that no nodes processing this message,
Receiving DAO message message get rejected in IPDispatchP component in
reconstruction failing condition...
So is the multicast address that i am using ( ff02::1a) is not correct
and is there different multicast address should i use to send DAO to all
parent list
Or Is there any wrong in my understanding the code? or am i missing
out something here?
please kindly reply i stuck in this from few days...
Thanks
Lohith
