Actually that isn't what I was talking about.

I have created a new alternative that includes not only the main TinyOS
trunk, the OSIAN code, but additional code as well. The OSIAN support (in
particular support for the SuRF platform, cc430f5137) is part of this
alternative tree.

This alternative is called TinyProd for TinyOs with a Production flavor.
It is a GIT based repository hosted on GITHUB that is actively tracking the
main SVN TinyOS trunk. There is also active development going on for
several motes using the newer TI processors. These motes are slated for
industrial deployment (production level rather than academic research).

The OSIAN project while not defunct certainly isn't seeing a lot of traffic
these days and the primary developer (Peter Bigot) has moved on. OpenOSIAN
only supports the cc430f5137 processor and the surf platform (new support).
It currently is aging and the OpenOSIAN git repository is not tracking the
TinyOS trunk (it could, but why do that when I've already moved the code to
a different git repository).

TinyProd has a new msp430 core. This core supports the x1 (msp430f1611,
etc), x2 (msp430f2618), and x5 (cc430f5137 and msp430f5438) families of
processors. This new msp430 core for tinyos supports the main TI msp430
processors being used by new motes.

TinyProd also provides a common GIT development structure for TinyOS
development. It has an integration structure in place to help organize
multiple development threads. It is intended to provide a more developer
friendly, more stable, production orientated TinyOS development environment.
It is intended to be complementary to the more research, academic
orientated TinyOS SVN trunk.

SuRF platform support and processor support for the cc430f5137 is provided
as part of the core TinyProd offering. Additional OSIAN code (IPv6,
sockets, etc) is provided on a seperate branch. Work is ongoing making
this code function with the current TinyOS trunk.

I've published a new overview of how to use stuff and what is going on at:
