Hmm, we did set our software ack timeout to 3500us because we were seeing a
lot of missing acks early on in our development. That figure was picked
based on the observed time from send-to-fully-downloaded-on-the-receiver
(which was as high as 2900us or so). Given what you've just seen and said,
that might be related? As an FYI, our platform is the LSR siflex-02 (we're
still working on building up the atxm256 support needed for it).

I did take a /very/ brief stab at enabling hardware acks on the RF212, but
just whacking in what seemed like an appropriate value in CTRL2 didn't work.
I also haven't understood how acks in general are supposed to work with
mesh-forwarding and hardware address/pan filtering, and until (if!) I have
the time to do that I won't spend any serious time trying to get hardware
acks going.
