Hard to say.
The make rules involve the following:
support/make/micaz.target
support/make/avr.rules
I see mkdir -p $(BUILDDIR) # (BUILDDIR is build/micaz)
So I would check the permissions on . (current working dir)
check to see if you have write permission to the current directory.
