Hi,

I am trying to understand the values that RssiDemo provides. I am using an
IRIS mote based on Atmel RF230 radio transciever.

The value range that I am getting from RssiDemo is 0-84(following RSSIDEMO
tutorial) so I can figure out that what I getting is the energy value and
not the RSSI. Also I saw the makefile and the flag is "DRF230_RSSI_ENERGY".

Looking the RF230 datasheet I can understand that when I receive a 0 the
receive power is -91 dBm or less so I can say PRF=Energy_VALUE - 91 (dBm)?.

In case that this is rigth, if I relate it with the RSSI, following the
formula "PRF = RSSI_BASE_VAL + 3•(RSSI - 1)" with a RSSI range of 1-28. The
maximum PRF=-10dBm and minimun is PRF=-91 dBm.
Using the Energy_Value the maximum PRF=-7dBm

Someone could tell me if I am rigth and if that case, why there is a 3 dB
difference between both methods?.

Thanks in advance for your time

Regards
Pablo.
