If the IRIS has a SPI bus then yes it is possible. And from what I've seen on the mailing lists, it does have an SPI bus.
I don't have any other details. You should find the IRIS schematic and see what pins are brought out. If the SPI pins are brought out then you will have to figure the rest of it out. But it is possible if the SPI pins are brought out.
