First, it references getting TinyOS source from the CVS repository. The CVS repository has been deprecated for a long time. It was replaced by the GoogleCode SVN repository which has now also been deprecated and replaced by the current GITHUB repository. The GITHUB repository, github.com/tinyos/tinyos-main is where the current development tree lives and tinyos-release is where the released code lives for TinyOS 2.1.2. Second and more importantly, and this is why installing on Cygwin is problematic, is the toolchain required for 2.1.2 is 4.6.3 (for the msp430 tools) and the rpm packages (which cygwin requires) don't work. The build process for Cygwin compatible packages has been lost and no one is supporting that build environment. I support the debian packaging for Linux hosted TinyOS and have built those packages but when we tried to convert these for use on Cygwin, there were problems with libc versioning. The bottom line is 2.1.2 currently isn't supported for Cygwin environments at least for msp430 motes. > > > Ha. > > On Mon, Mar 4, 2013 at 5:28 PM, kh sabrine <[email protected]> wrote: > >> Hello, >> >> I will use Telosb platform, so i will install TinyOS. >> I have Windows 7 (32 byte) as a OS , >> I tried a lot to install TinyOS-2.x with the help of the website: >> >> https://code.google.com/p/kth-wsn/downloads/detail?name=GettingStartedWithTinyOS.pdf&can=2&q= >> >> but when i execute in the terminal of cygwin the command >> "rpm -Uvh --nodeps --ignoreos >> RPM/msp430tools-base-0.1-20050607.cygwin.i386.rpm" >> >> An error: rpm not found >> >> I can't solve this problem, >> >> If someone can help me please??? >> >> Thanks in advance!! >> >> Sabrine!! >> >> _______________________________________________ >> Tinyos-help mailing list >> [email protected] >> https://www.millennium.berkeley.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tinyos-help >> > > > _______________________________________________ > Tinyos-help mailing list > [email protected] > https://www.millennium.berkeley.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tinyos-help > -- Eric B.
