I think at 500 or 1000 ms, you've gone past the optimal point - CTP nodes have
to send regular beacons, and with such long preambles that will require a lot
of energy from both the sender and the receivers. Try 50-100 ms as a ball park
figure. For a more accurate calculation, do what we did and put the required
TX/RX current into a spreadsheet and work out the optimal interval given the
number of nodes and expected transmit rate. And no, sorry, I can't just give
you our spreadsheet ;-)
Best,
Michiel

Subject: [Tinyos-help] LPL+CTP+IRIS

Hello,

I have an IRIS mote with some sensors and using CTP algorithm and it lasted
around 2 days and a half. If I use LPL with 500 ms or 1000ms it lasted around 5
days. Is it possible to increase the lifetime of the motes using CTP protocol?

Thank you very much.

Yours,

Sofia
