Hello all, I am carrying out experiments to measure the LQI values in TinyOS with TelosB motes. The set up is at open space environment, the area is 100m by 100m. The base station (destination mote) and the sender mote are placed at a height of 1m and I have transmitted 1000 packets of 100 bytes size for every 5m upto 65m. The antennas faces each other and Tx_level is 31(0dBm). It was clear Line of Sight. What I observe was the LQI was above 100 (CC2420 Lqi range 50 to 110) upto 45 metres and there was a significant drop in LQI value above 45m, between 50m and 65 m the LQI values was around 75. 1) I am not sure but I read somewhere the range for 0dBm is 75m for outdoor environment, why my LQI values drops so badly when it is under clear LOS (ofcourse distance play a role but not to this extent I guess) 2) Is there anything related to height of base station and sender mote which I have set up.
