Hi: I am doing my course project using mica2 mote. I have a question about the multi-hop modules in tinyos. We use surge tool to view the topology. But it always takes almost 1 minute to show part of the topology. I found that motes broadcast periodically and get estimate value from other motes and establish the routing table. Even we changed the update interval shorter, it still takes a long time. So I was wondering if there are any methods to get the whole topology faster. Thanks very much.
And regarding the antenna, sometimes motes cannot receive any information from its neighbors even they are very close to each other. I heard the antenna used in motes have orientation. So how can we adjust it to a correct direction to receive and transmit messages? Thanks very much.
