A phone meeting of the TIPC working group was held on September 27, 2007. Attendees:
Al Stephens (Wind River) -- meeting chair; Randy MacLeod (Nortel); Elmer Horvath (Wind River); Dominic Herity (Red Plain); Ravi Rao (Nortel associate); Jon Maloy (Ericsson) Minutes: 1. Meeting opening The meeting was called to order at 11:04 AM (EDT). 2. Plans for upcoming TIPC work Al indicated that Wind River will next undertake to port TIPC 1.7 capabilities into the Linux kernel (where it will be known as TIPC 1.8); WR will also be releasing a tarball on SourceForge that will bring relevant TIPC 1.7 capabilities in VxWorks 6.6 to earlier VxWorks 6.x releases. There is no ETA for either of these activities at the moment, or for subsequent TIPC work, as WR management is still working on its resourcing plans for the next year. Ravi is continuing work on the TIPC virtualization effort (as discussed at last month's meeting); again, there is no ETA for completion of this work. Jon has received indicatations that Ericsson may be willing to undertake some work on the open source TIPC project; he will provide further details when they become available. 3. Relationship with the Multicore Association The Multicore Association is contemplating reclassification of the TIPC Working Group within its organization, since -- unlike the other working groups within the organization -- participation is not restricted to members of the MA. There were no objections by the members of the TIPC WG to this sort of change, as a lesser level of affiliation with the MA would better reflect the true situation between the two organizations. 4.
