The Transparent Inter Process Communication (TIPC) protocol enables quick and reliable communication between applications in a clustered computer environment, and is an emerging standard for messaging on multi-core and multi-processor systems. Open Source TIPC software is supported on a number of operating systems, including Linux and VxWorks.
We are pleased to announce the release an updated version of the Portable TIPC Test Suite for TIPC 1.7. The test suite provides basic sanity testing for TIPC, which can be used to verify that TIPC has been installed and configured correctly and to regression test TIPC patches for enhancements and bug fixes. Users can also modify the existing tests or add new ones by building upon the infrastructure provided by the test suite. PTTS version 1.1. is available for both Linux and VxWorks platforms. The test suite can also be ported to other operating systems by encapsulating the portable "core" of the test suite within a small amount of OS-specific wrapper code.
