The differences really don't seem to make a difference. For example, who cares if anticipation of future goals are represented as expectancies/valences or fractional anticipatory goal responses? It is the Skinnerians, (or "radical behaviorists" with only a little knowledge of Skinner), that are truly different. One frequently argued with me over the necessity for "motivation"--something inside the organism. My response was that attempting to study behavior without it was boring.
