I think that the last time I read the definition of learning was that 
learning is a relatively permanent change in behavioral POTENTIAL brought
about by experience.
There are sleeper effects as it relates to learning.Those students who
may not demonstrate performance norms,still learn and although it may not
be localized the global impact on the student's life could be significant.
Btw,are we preparing students for tests or for life?

Btw, some American students complain about the Asian students who get high
scores in certain areas of the sciences.They refer to the Asians as curve
raisers.I guess some of the Asian students make the brightest of the
American students look average and they don't like that.
