Well, I've been away for awhile; forgot how informative this listserve can be! Anyway, I am wondering if anyone has any tips (excuse the pun) for dealing with a very hostile student. Amazingly, this is the second time I have had him (earlier for a different class), and he remains hostile, not to me personally, but to his education in general. Anything he is asked to do, he acts like this is the greatest imposition possible. I ignored him last time I had him, but now feel like I need some good tricks around this behavior. The good news is, he is not disruptive in class.
