It wouldn't have come from me, but I have generally offered a few thoughts on arguing for (obviously not proving) the existence of God a. Renee Descartes argued that the belief in an infinite, perfect supreme being cannot originate in the mind (or minds) of a finite, imperfect being. Something like that. b. Another philosopher (and I cannot remember his name) argued that for all of the beliefs promulgated, wars fought, conversions sought, etc., in the name of God, if God really doesn't exist, then His existence is by far the biggest hoax in human history. c. A less cerebral argument is using the metaphor of wind. Not everything that exists can be seen and touched, or even easy to prove. And yet we believe what we do not see. Is adding God to my worldview then such a difficult stretch? Best wishes from the believing side, Jim ************************************************************************ Jim Guinee, Ph.D. Director of Training & Adjunct Professor President, Arkansas College Counselor Association University of Central Arkansas Counseling Center 313 Bernard Hall Conway, AR 72035 USA (501) 450-3138 (office) (501) 450-3248 (fax) "Character is how you behave when no one is looking" -Unknown ************************************************************************** --- You are currently subscribed to tips as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
