I agree w/ Cynthia's dad... college football is so big in the south because
that's all they had for a while. The reason why college football is not as
popular in the northeast is because traditionally the teams are not very
good. When was the last time a national champion was crowned from the
northeast? Ever? Penn St. doesn't count!
Along those lines... Two days after the SC Gamecocks beat Ohio St. in the
Outback bowl, the local paper (which I read on-line) already had "10
questions for next year's Gamecocks"... amazing! The season just ended,
and it was time to fret about next year's squad already. Of course, w/ Lou
Holtz at Carolina (true proof of God... not Lou's existence, but the fact
that he coaches at USC) we have nothing to worry about.
