What is the basis for your "finding" this to be true? I would have thought that most of us in fact spend much time thinking about how to make material interesting and relevant to students in ways that don't compromise the academic integrity of the course. Certainly stimulating interest and encouraging participation are standard on most course evaluation forms, if that is any indication.
