I had a couple questions in my Physio Psych class today that I was not sure
about... I was hoping someone w/ more background in the area could help.
1. We were talking about the reticular activating system and how it
regulates arousal and such. I'm aware that peak arousal times change as we
get older, such that for the most part, older folks have their peak times
early in the day (compared to college age people). Question: are there
data on peak times or arousal for children?
2. A common field sobriety test involves having the person follow the
police officer's finger as they move it from side to side. If someone has
had too much alcohol, their eyes will "twitch" when the finger gets near
the peripheral visual field. Why does that happen?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give,
Steve
