You lost me on this statement, Ed.  I have been a department chair, a dean, and
a vice president and have seen all of the things that you have seen; however, to
say that we soft-headed humanists are the only ones who spout the same stuff in
class after class is absolutely wrong.  I know some very _hard_ scientists who
do the same thing.  Every class they teach is the same thing and students have
made that clear to me on many occasions.
