Mark,

The following two references describe projects I use in my
developmental course. Both involve papers in addition to the hands-on
experience. I also give students the option of completing a book
review on a topic relevant to the course.

        Nigro, G. N. (1994). Create-a-game: An exercise for developmental
psychology classes. Teaching of Psychology, 21, 243-245.

Neysmith-Roy, J. M. (1994). Constructing toys to integrate knowledge
about child development. Teaching of Psychology, 21, 101-103.
