One of my students asked today about "extra" consent and ethics when films become public, such as the Milgram study participants or the blue eyes/brown eyes study. Did all of the original participants who are pictured give consent and did they have to, for the film clips to become public?
The suggestion made by the student was that some of these people were portrayed in a fairly negative light. Also, my own added question concerns possible coersion if they were paid to allow use of the films...... Thanks to tipsters for your group knowledge.
