I was using the usual example of spinning by ice skaters and dancers as an example of habituation of the vestibular sense and their use of spotting to prevent nausea. An iceskater in my class said that in her experience right handed skaters spun to the left and left handed skaters spun to the right. >From my experience in ballroom dancing this made sense since left turns are easier for me than right turns. Any explanation for this, TIPSTERS? I told the class that I didn't know the reason but my guess would be that right handers are also right footers and their right leg would be stronger in powering a turn with the reverse for lefties. I also told the class that I had a infallible source for all such arcane information and would bet the answer by Monday. So arcane information Tipsters, que pasa oder was macht?
