I too, have used Lahey's book-- used it for about three years, students
liked it a lot. Adjuncts liked it as well. This year we switched to Rathus,
Essentials version with built-in study guide. We have not been pleased, so
will not reuse. We like to change frequently to keep ourselves fresh, but
not generally after only one year. Our other campus uses Feldman, have used
for years and feel it is a good one. Oh-- we are a two-year school.

Now we are looking at Plotnik and also the Wade and Tavris new one, among
others, so all your comments are helpful.

I am considering adopting a new text for the Fall semester.....both Lahey's

have any feedback for me on these texts?

I would recommend that anyone adopting a new General Psychology text should
examine Koenig and Griggs recently updated compendium of introductory
psychology texts. It is an excellent resource and it is available for
download at the Office for Teaching Resources web site. The following
synopsis of this resource appears at the site:

"Considering the large number of introductory psychology texts available, it
is difficult for you, the instructor, to be familiar with the full range of
options. To assist in your textbook selection process, we have developed
this compendium of individualized and comparative information for all 38
psychology texts and the 21 briefer versions of some of these texts with
copyright dates between 1999 and 2002. We used this period of time because
almost all introductory textbooks are on a three-year revision cycle. A few
are on two- or four-year cycles. Thus, this compendium should include all of
the texts that are presently viable for your adoption consideration".
