They thought it was a challenge. I don't use every chapter, but I do assign the basic chapters on reliabiity and validity. I chose it because it didn't seem that different from the other texts on my shelf (Aiken, Kaplan, Cohen). Let me know what other feedback you get. John K

Rod:
Anastasi & Urbani _Psychological Testing_ seventh edition (Prentice-Hall) is a good book, though doesn't go step-by-step through the construction process. Sage Publications has a short text called _How to Conduct Surveys_ (Fink and Kosecoff, second edition) that is very hands-on, and while it doesn't focus on attitutional surveys it may have enough for you to use. As a reference, I also refer my students to APA's _Directory of Unpublished Experimental Mental Measures_ which most libraries would have (?), which lists all the surveys in the literature that have developed research-type surveys. I find it very useful for the semester project I assign, in which students create their own survey - usually of the attitude type.
If you uncover anything better than these suggestions, I'd like to see it. JK

Does anyone have any textbook suggestions for an undergraduate Tests and Measurement class?I'm also looking for a text that takes the reader through the various steps of constructing an attitudinal survey.  I had a text like this when I was in my master's program, but I can't remember the author or the title. ______________________________________________Roderick D.
