-------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Department of Psychology at Appalachian State University invites applicants for three tenure-track positions at the assistant professor level beginning August 2003. Position 1 � Cognitive Psychology. Responsibilities include: teaching and advising in our graduate and undergraduate programs, including teaching an undergraduate course in Cognitive Psychology. Position 2 � Developmental Psychology. Responsibilities include: teaching and advising in our graduate and undergraduate programs, including teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the Psychology of Adulthood and Aging and an undergraduate course in Lifespan Development. Position 3 � Social Psychology. Preference will be given to candidates in the area of Social Cognition. Responsibilities include: teaching and advising in our graduate and undergraduate programs, including teaching an undergraduate course in Social Psychology. For all three positions, preference will be given to candidates who are committed to and have demonstrated excellence in teaching. Successful applicants will be expected to develop and maintain an active program of research including thesis supervision. Appointment is contingent on completion of all requirements for a Ph.D. in Psychology. Currently, the Department has 28 full-time faculty members, approximately 600 undergraduate majors, and 80 full-time graduate students in five Master of Arts degree programs.
