As part of our long range planning effort we are collecting information on
current trends in undergraduate psychology education.
I have a couple of questions that will help in collecting that information.
Once this information is tabulated I will post it.
What are the new courses your department has begun offering the past 2 - 3
years?
The Profession of Psychology
as special topics: Fieldwork and Seminar in Psychology
Have there been any changes in the curriculum for your major?
in 1996: switched to
-Students have to take math stat and at least one 100-level psych course with a grade of B before declaring .
-Must pass one semester of a two semester lab science sequence (which we specify) before enrolling in Experimental and must complete the second semester by the time they graduate (originally we had required both semesters of this sequence be completed before experimental but it held students back too much-we have a lot of transfers who come here in their jr yr).
-New Requirements for the major (all are at the 200=-level or higher:
Are you offering any degrees other than psychology? no
Do you offer any tracts or areas of focus within your majors? Not defined although we might advise students interested in various careers differently
