Subject: Re: teaching qualifications for tests and measurement
I received a masters in measurement and evaluation from Teachers College,
Columbia University, about 36 years ago. At that time, Robert Thorndike was chairman
of the department and taught the core course in test construction. His course, a
two-semester sequence, was a very rigorous discussion of the theory and practice of
test construction. The program did not require teachers to be clinicians, though
courses in intelligence testing and personality testing were offered.
