Mike and Michael- There are also ethical issues. When you assign a grade you sign the form. That's an assurance that you have evaluated this student and are certifying their performance. How can you expect a colleague to do that (a false certification) and then tell their students they can't cheat. Doing what the student suggests only makes sense if you don't understand what grades represent and how the checks and balances (sic) work within the system. I strongly suspect that doing this could result in dismissal as it probably breaks several rules in your faculty handbook. Tim
