A friend of mine observed that a local physician is now offering Neuro feedback for ADHD, perhaps to train the brain to experience a different ratio of alpha to theta wave states leading to less hyperactivity and inattention. This physician has written a book about this treatment approach, suggesting that science has yet to catch up to this innovative approach.
I observed that controlled outcome studies assessing the effectiveness of such a treatment would not be difficult to conduct, but was not aware of any support for this approach to treating ADHD. I did a literature search and except for biofeedback journals (one in particular called Neurotherapy) I found no review or even outcome studies in good clinical journals. I was curious if anyone has more knowledge of this neurofeedback treatment for ADHD and evidence for effectiveness? my thanks, Bob Hill -- Bob Hill, Ph.D. Psychology Appalachian State University Boone, NC 28608 email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] web site: http://www.appstate.edu/~hillrw/ --- You are currently subscribed to tips as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
