Nothing in science (certainly behavioral science) is absolute.
It is certainly possible that someone with Dewitt's specs could become a competent physician or psychologist, but it is not likely.
Given that acceptance to grad (and particularly) med school is competitive, one has to consider the relative likelihood that a given individual will perform appropriately in a given situation.
