Robert,
I
would add to the other suggestions a look at recent articles in the Annual
Review of Neuroscience and Annual Review of Psychology. There have been several
reviews in those volumes in the past four years. The titles that I saw do not
look like they tap the evolution question specifically, but they do seem to
provide good reviews of the specific memory, place and emotion functions served
by the hippocampus.
good
luck

Subject: Hippocampus ArticleI'm looking for a good article that reviews and provides an evolutionary perspective of the hippocampus and behavior/memory. Any suggestions? Thanks,Rob Flint--------------------------------------------------------------------------Robert W.
