Let him take it early if it is for his convenience. If you let him take it late it may be unfair, as in "the squeaky wheel gets the grease." What about the other students who also have a lot to do that day but they just buck up and take the test as scheduled? To be fair you have to assume that what you allow for this student, you would allow any and all of your student to do-- and will let them all know that this option is available.
