A few students in my experimental class are conducting a study that examines taxonomic and thematic structural organization in preschoolers and college students. The essence of the study is that they are presenting eight objects to ten preschoolers and ten college students and asking them to categorize based on thematic or taxonomic organization. They are just about ready to analyze the data and I suggested a nonparametric test. The chi-square would be great for comparing the two groups but there is a repeated measures component (which could be dealt with by using the Friedman's chi square). Unfortunately I don't think there is a nonparametric that deals with a mixed design. Does anyone know of one?
Thanks in advance.
Cheri
