I was starting to get a bit agitated reading some responses to the young
child who was biting. Although Nancy is right that the age isn't given,
I'll go along with the idea that it is likely to be a toddler.

Beth Benoit's excerpt is pretty right on the money. Toddlers will bite
because they don't know what else to do. They do it because they are
angry and don't know how to connect language or other action with the
feelings of anger they have.

I would suggest giving this toddler a heavy dose of "what to do when
you're angry." I would suggest some role playing, including things like
thumping a pillow against the ground. I would also suggest heavy
bibliotherapy (aka books) that talk about being angry and what to do.
