I am looking at setting up a lab with homing pigeons at a small college. I have already talked to people about setting up an animal care committee but I was wondering what agencies (federal and local) need to be contacted if I am to house live animals. I am working with a colleague at a major university; so initially all surgical procedures will be conducted in his lab. I will be doing straight behavioral work.
