Dear Colleagues,
At my previous institution, I taught a two-semester undergraduate
research methods course for about 10 years. Now I have the privilege to
teach a graduate research methods course. Being so entrenched in the
undergraduate textbook world, I've been pretty much out of the loop when it
comes to graduate textbooks. Any suggestions?
When I took graduate research methods myself, we used Polkinghorne as
our text. I liked very much the emphasis on history and goals of scientific
research presented in that book, but I always thought it was a little
esoteric for first year graduate students. Are there any other books which
include the history and goals of science w/o being so esoteric?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.
