I recently had the opportunity to see The Big River which just opened on
Broadway. It is a musical, a revision of Roger Miller's version of Mark
Twain's classic. The entire play, songs included, is performed in American
Sign Language, and also spoken and sung; where the actor playing a
particular role does not speak or sing, another actor supplies the missing
"voice." Not only is it an enjoyable musical but it provides an unique
insight into
communicaiton.
