As one who values "demonstrating the method" I find, Louis that you seem to do the opposite of what you profess. If you treat your students responses like you treat responses to this list then you are doing the first half of most of your "wow"'s. How come you don't take to heart the case studies from your colleagues on this list like you do from your students? You call your post "random thoughts" but how come I can always predict the ending and the message is the same. Your current "students" are no longer learning from this technique. Many of us see the experience of your posts as noted below. It's not that we are "against" you but your post have become less enlightening and more depressing; less supportive and more condemning; less refreshing and more stale; less random and totally predictable.

The beginning of the academic year is just a couple of weeks away.It is my hope that you will receive this as you would any response form one of your students and carefully consider. I hope you will chose the road to improve our moods and attitudes.
No depressing "yuks" for me, only rising "wows!" ...
I can be sour...;
I can be pathelogical...;
I can torture...;
I can care less...;
I can manipulate...;
I can dictate...;
I can discourage...;
I can obstruct...;
I can diminish...;
I can bore...;
I can creat disonance...;
I can curse and condem...;
I can be of diservice...;
I can grind down...;
I can be clueless...;
I can be disinterested...;
I can be cold...;
I can be deaf...;
..
It is my choices that decides on which side of each "or" I stand.
How well I manage my moods and attitudes affects students' moods and
attitudes, and influences how well they each will perform. That is no
small burden. It's both scary and humbling.
I am assuming that this is just my opinion.
