NORTHERN ARIZONA UNIVERSITY'S PSYCHOLOGY DEPARTMENT: invites
applications
for an opening at the ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (tenure-track) level in Social

Psychology.  The position, subject to funding availability, begins
August  2004.  Minimum requirements include a Ph.D. by August 2004 in
Social Psychology or Social Ecology with strong quantitative
skills.  Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate
courses such as social psychology, personality, research methods,
statistics, and introductory psychology, in addition to supervising
undergraduate and graduate students in research.  Additional
responsibilities include advising and engaging in research/scholarly
activity.  Preference will be given to candidates with: (1) experience
teaching in the areas listed above, (2) willingness to participate in
instructional technology, such as web-based or televised courses, (3)
willingness to help fulfill broad university commitments, such as
liberal
studies, freshman colloquium, or honors courses, and (4) commitment to
working with a diverse university community.  Normal teaching load for
assistant professors is 2 courses one semester and 3 courses the
other.  The 20-person Department oversees an undergraduate program with
600
majors and two masters-level graduate programs (General-Psychology and
Applied-Health-Psychology). The University offers a range of bachelors,
masters, and doctoral programs to an increasingly diverse population of
19,000 students at its four-season mountain campus in Flagstaff and
through
statewide educational programs.  Interdisciplinary initiatives include
programs in Latin American Studies and Women's Studies, and a Native
American Institute.  Due to the increasing ethnic diversity of the
Arizona
