I was working on a reply when I went to lab. I came back and found that David had made
the points that I was planning to make. The book that I was working from is the "The
Biochemical Basis of Neuropharmacology" by Cooper Bloom and Roth. It provides most of
the information that David supplied and more. The latest addition is available from
Amazon. I recommend it as an excellent, readable and technical resource for these
kinds of questions.

This is where we run into the difference between spending ten minutes
on a reply and spending an hour on a reply. :) But most biopsych
textbooks (e.g. Kalat or Carlson) should cover this material.
