Pages 103-104 of McBurney and White's Research Methods, 6th edition, Wadsworth has what I think is a very nice (modest "ahem" here) discussion and example of poster presentations.  
Although I cannot give blanket approval to copy these pages, please use your judgment and keep in mind the "fair use" concept.  :-)
