I subscribe to a newsletter of a British organization which provides
superb news and informed commentary on current issues in biomedical
ethics, from a British perspective. I don't know anything about the
organization itself (Progress Educational Trust), except that in
their editorial content they advocate what I'd characterize as a
liberal, pro-research, approach, with a good dose of common sense.
Perhaps one of our British colleagues can tell us something about
them. I highly recommend subscribing to their (free) e-mail weekly
newsletter. I think they'd provide an excellent resource for a course
in biomedical thics.

It's at http://www.bionews.org.uk/
