I've been asked to talk to a reporter for the local newspaper who's writing a story "unmasking halloween". Essentially, she's interested in talking about why people get so "into" Halloween (making and wearing costumes, etc.) and why people seem to be making a big deal out of Halloween recently. Other than deindividuation, are there other obvious concepts that come to mind?

Thanks in advance,
Traci
