How would one cite a quotation that is from a secondary source.

here is the situation:
Let's say Smith and Jones (1999) provide a direct quotation from Simmons (1888)
and I want to use that direct quotation from Simmons. I have not read Simmons,
nor have I acquired the Simmons paper, but I want to use the quotation
nevertheless. How would I put that into the body of the paper. Would it be
something like:

Smith and Jones (1999) provide a pertinent quotation from Simmons (as cited in
Smith & Jones, 1999) which state, "blah, blah, blah."

Thanks

Annette
