Yes, when the Graduate School representative finds issue numbers where the style manual says they should not be, he or she returns the thesis or dissertation to the student for correction and may even send a note to the committee asking them to be more careful. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Karl L. Besides the two comments on-list, I also got a good off-list argument, pointing out that citation software (Endnotes) includes the issue number, and that getting rid of it requires the user to edit it out of all of the database entries used. Are there any good arguments for continuing to be picky about this and requiring students to omit the issue number? --- You are currently subscribed to tips as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
